Pink Laptops (And More) For Kids
Why should adults have all the fun of pink electronics? There are plenty of pink gadgets for kids out there too! Kids pink laptops range from simple toys to advanced computers. The pink Nitro Notebook is just one example of a cool and educational (not to mention fashionable) “toy” that will have your children learning in style.
The Nitro Notebook uses arcade-style games to teach kids ages 5 and up a variety of skills, such as math, reading, social studies, Spanish, logic, music, and much more. The game “Science World” will ask you to match an animal to its shadow; in “Word Zone” you need to spell a word correctly to help a puppy cross a river. An artificial intelligence tool tracks the user’s progress and adjusts the skill level accordingly. It also reads and sings out loud with the help of two additional cartridges called Story Time and Sing-Along. I think Mom and Dad will have as much fun with this as the kids!
For the pre-school crowd, there is the VTech Tote N Go Laptop Plus, which comes in both bright pink and yellow/orange. Just like the Nitro Notebook, this laptop teaches kids language, math, games and music with the help of 30 different activities.
If you are looking for something just as educational but even more portable, check out the cheery pink and fuchsia LeapFrog Leapster2 Learning Game System. Easy to bring along in the car or to the beach, the Leapster2 is compatible with all the Leapster learning games and your kids will have a blast learning skills such as spelling, math, rhyming, music and artistic expression. A cool new feature in the Leapster2 system is that you can connect it to your computer so that your kids can collect the fun rewards they’ve earned while playing. There is also a new online creativity studio, where children can upload their artwork, embellish and/or change it, and publish it to share with others.
Have a budding photographer in the family? The Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera (intended for ages 3 and up) is adorable and childproof; it has sturdy dual handgrips and big buttons and can handle being dropped without breaking. The latest version (due out in the fall of 2008) is even waterproof. In spite of looking like a toy, it is a real digital camera with a built-in auto flash, LCD preview screen and built-in memory, which stores up to 500 pictures. It comes with a USB cord for downloading photos to your computer.
Pink for kids is nothing new, but these days, they can add advanced technology to their collection of pink toys. What little girl wouldn’t want her own fashionable pink laptop to match her room and outfit?
